“Who are you?”

“The Caterpillar and Alice looked at each other for some time in silence: at last the Caterpillar took the hookah out of its mouth, and addressed her in a languid, sleepy voice.

‘Who are you?’ said the Caterpillar.”

- Lewis Carroll, ‘Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland’, Chapter 5

(The Disney version is quite a bit different from the original version, but this caterpillar is great, don’t you think?)

Hello all!

I’m a recent college graduate with a degree in Sociology and International Relations. I just started to work with interactive media and am trying to explore and learn as much as possible. I’m from Brazil, lived all over Latin America (now living in Chile), and went to college in the U.S. and I love to travel and discover new things, so I’m interested in finding out what is new and inspiring in interactive not only in the Americas but all over the world.

In exploring the interactive media world, this blog will be a tool that will help me reflect on and share with everyone my discoveries or other stuff I find interesting. I’m hoping that it will become a sort of like a “beginner’s guide” to interactive media so that those who are interested can benefit from my explorations and I can learn more from interacting with everyone else.

A note about the title:

I picked it first because I’m a huge fan of “Alice in Wonderland” and “Through the Looking Glass” (I own this one, and it’s fantastic), and secondly because I think it lends itself very well to the theme of exploration, curiosity and discovering strange and wonderful things.

The other day I started searching the web for interesting Alice-related images that I could put up and I came across the one to the left, which couldn’t be more perfect, and a post about modern innovation and technology. So let’s step through the looking glass and see what this world has to offer.

Please comment as much as you want and let me know if you have any interesting article or website or anything really. Let’s chat.

Thanks for stopping by!

- Carolina

And by the way, the header image this time is the pattern on the sidewalk at Ipanema beach, my favorite beach in Rio de Janeiro, where I’m from.
